Bloomsbury is an area of the London Borough of Camden, in central London, between Euston Road and Holborn, developed by the Russell family in the 17th and 18th centuries into a fashionable residential area. It is notable for its array of garden squares, literary connections (exemplified by the Bloomsbury Group), and numerous cultural, educational and health-care institutions. Bloomsbury was not the first area of London to have acquired a formal square, Bloomsbury Square laid out in 1660 by Thomas Wriothesley, 4th Earl of Southampton, as Southampton Square was the first square to be named as such.

Great place to stay! Great location !!

This property is exactly as it was shown. Very modern and nice! Great accommodations and the owners were wonderful to work with.

    Great flat and neighborhood

My husband, our two teenagers and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this flat. The kitchen has everything you need and there are several grocery stores nearby. I couldn’t get the dryer function on the washerdryer to work, but it was very nice to have the washer after 9 days of traveling. The big TV in the living room was great for watching the Olympics. The rooms and beds are small by American standards. The nicest surprise was the neighborhood – little shops, pubs, cafes are all just a block or two away. Lamb’s Conduit Street was particularly nice. It’s very easy to get the bus anywhere else you want to go.

Great flat, clean, & centrally located.

Modern, well kept and in the heart of London makes this a great place to stay. Nice size kitchen and living room made it very comfortable for the 5 adults staying here. We had a few electrical issues during our 5 day stay. The management was very prompt to address and take care of it. The only thing I might caution other renters on is the staircase. While it looks great, (a smooth flat single piece of stone for each step with a thick solid glass panel instead of a railing for each level) it can be challenging for those that need more assist or support going up and down the stairs. It is slippery and without a traditional railing hard to hold onto the glass panel for support.

    London Family Vacation

We absolutely loved this condo. Extremely clean and modern. The location was great, close bus stations made it very convenient to get around. Plenty of space for my wife and our 5 children. The owner was very helpful in helping plan our pick-up at the airport and getting us our key. Several restaurants withing walking distance, we were even able to walk to the train station upon our departure to take the Eurostar.

    great quiet location

This apartment is in a great quiet location within long but comfortable walking distance of several major attractions. These may be a mile or so away but the walk is pleasant and if you choose not to walk there is always a readily available cab or Uber. Neighborhood itself is very quiet but you don’t feel isolated. the apartment itself has obviously been recently updated with very striking decor. Probably not best choice for young children as there are 3 levels of wooden stairs with glass handrails. Appliances are easy to use and very efficient. Plumbing and heating are perfect. Highly recommend this apartment for those who want to be away from busy tourist areas.

    Perfect In So Many Ways

Who we are: We are a family with two teenage kids from America. We have been to England several times but never spent this much time in London.

The Stay: 8 days in late March/early April and the weather was cold but mostly sunny. There were a few moments of rain/hail (!)

The lowdown: You will swear off staying at hotels after experiencing this property. A+!

The pros: Most everything. So clean and like new. We like to walk so it was perfectly situated. Near M&S & Waitrose or Co-op for groceries. Lots of coffee shops (love Hopper – next door!) and restaurants (L’Osteria 57 was a cute/cheap Italian)…It is in the middle of London and yet somehow in a quiet/not intense section that we were unfamiliar with…3 stations are close and 10-15 minute walk but we actually walked to most sites w/o Tube. Pretty much everything is walkable. The house is beautiful and super clean. The facilities are great – pots/pans/everything you need. Towels, soap etc…TV was perfect. Karen was always available in a flash. They are very helpful and run a tight ship. Everything should be left as it was when you arrive and you should treat it like it is your own home because it is evident they take good care of it. Beds were comfortable and showers were great. Wifi was fantastic. Common area is very comfortable. Instruction manuals for all appliances. And heat/air for each room. Honestly, this is an amazing place…felt like we lived there.

The cons: Not many. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are v. small. Who cares, really though as you won’t be there much. The kitchen is ground floor so expect to eat at the island or the small table there vs. lugging things up the stairs to the dining room…for us it was fine. Steep stairs throughout – for us was not a problem. The ground floor bedroom didn’t feel right to leave our youngest there…you are right on the street. But the street is quiet and very residential. We had a couple hiccups early on…it was a little tense for a few moments but ultimately was fine when they understood our POV and made up for it.

We really were able to enjoy London. Karen is great and helpful – got us a car for Heathrow – great driver! Felt relaxed and “at home” and cannot say enough about how great a place this is to stay. If you’ve been to London you will be shocked at how central it is and yet an area you may not know a lot about. We will always have great memories from this vacation. Staying at hotels seems downright stupid after staying here.

Premium destination off the beaten path

This house was a dream for us! We originally had in mind another unit for rent but it was unavailable. Karen helped us arrange this house and it had everything we needed.

Unfortunately, my parent’s plane arrived late and they were still accommodated upon arrival. My parents were traveling with us so it was great that their bedroom was on the ground floor. The house was very well equipped and we prepared every breakfast along with a couple of dinners. The kitchen had all utensils and cooking appliances necessary. This is the first time visiting London that I can say that there was enough space for 6 people including bathrooms.

The closest tube station is Chancery Lane and we were always just 10-15 minutes from all major attractions. The best part was we were still centrally located but off the beaten path so traffic noise was minimal and we slept soundly each night.

Even if this house isn’t available, please check with Karen and she will do her best to accommodate your needs with another property. For all future visits to the London area, we will only rent from this company as everything was as stated. We were all extremely impressed with the house, Karen, and her staff.

    Just as expected

We were a family of 3 adults and 3 teenagers and were very happy with this rental. It really is very true to the pictures you see on the website. The bedrooms are small (except for the master) but comfortable. The living room was spacious with a great sectionnal sofa so it was a nice gathering room. The rental was clean, very centrally located (we were able to walk to all the attractions we wanted to see) and even provided hair dryers and umbrellas! The kitchen was well equipped also. There are many local pubs and restaurants as mentionned by previous reviewers. Karen was very quick to respond to all our queries and also organised transportation to and from the airport that was perfect. We fully recommend this rental.

    Impeccable Bloomsbury Flat

We were three couple in town for a weekend we found this flat to be impeccable. Everything is clean, modern, very well situated in a relatively quiet area. The only two minor drawbacks: the second upstairs bathroom is a little bit tight and we would have liked to be just a little bit closer to the tube (about a ten minute walk), but those are very minor complaints compared to all the positives that this property had to offer. Would not hesitate to stay there again….

  • Amit Grover says:

    Nice clean, well furnished apartment

It took is 45-60 mins to get from the London Heathrow Airport to the apartment. The apartment is located on a quiet street in the northeast side of Central London. There are quite a few local restaurants within a 5-10 mins walk as well as a local grocery store, which will have everything you need.

The apartpart was clean, well furnished & as advertised online (description & pictures). The apartment is divided into 3 floors. The ground floor has one bedroom (queen size bed), a full bathroom in the hallway, kitchen and attached breakfast nook with seating for 4. The middle floor has the living room with a nice large HDTV on one side & a 6 seat large formal dining area on the other side of the stairs. The top floor has the master bedroom (queen bed) with enclosed full bathroom & a second bedroom (two twin beds pushed together) and a private full bathroom.

The kitchen included all the necessary large/small appliances, utensils & a built in washer/dryer (same machine does both, but the dryer does not dry as quickly as our dryers in the US – common issue we encountered throughout Europe). The beds were comfortable. Towels, toilet paper, body wash & shampoo/conditioner were all produced in the bathrooms. All the bathrooms had rain showers, hand held shower heads & the master bathroom also had a tub.

The apartment is a10-15 walk from 3 different tube stations (Russel Square, Holborn & Chancery Lane), with the Russell Square station being the closest. It is a 20 min walk from the British Museum. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves in the apartment & like the quiet yet accessible location. If it wasn’t for the fact that the apartment was divided into 3 floors (previously advertised to us), I would give this apartment 5/5 stars.

    Great house, great location

Our family stayed in this beautiful house for 7 nights. It is beautifully furnished and maintained and has every amenity you would need for a great holiday. It was only a short walk to two tube stations and we oftener walked into the city which took about 20 minutes. Just around the corner were three great coffee shops and a well stocked supermarket. The restaurants were fantastic and the hardest decision was which one to go to for dinner. My children and and I had a wonderful time exploring London. We went jet boating on the Thames, visited all the main sites including the Tower of London and also went to the Museum of Natural History which had a photography exhibition on at the time. I would highly recommend this house to any family looking for a great place to stay right in the center of London.

Excellent House for a Family Vacation in London

This is a clean, modern, well-equipped home conveniently located 0.5 miles from the Holborn, Chancery Lane and Russell Square Underground Stations. Our family of 6 had plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Note the home is on three levels with the kitchen and one bedroom on the ground floor, living and dining rooms on the second and two bedrooms on the third. You’ll need to navigate the stairs to access the upper floors. Home is very well-equipped with a full-size refrigerator, combination washer-dryer, dishwasher, large flat-screen television, etc. Nice touch – the operating manuals for all the appliances are stored in a basket on the kitchen counter. Great Wi-Fi access throughout the house; our family singed on upon arrival and had no issues using multiple iPhones and iPads on the system during our nine-day stay. Exceptional location in Bloomsbury, a quiet, safe mostly residential area located near the Inns Court (legal) buildings. Fair amount of activity during the day with mostly professionals working in the area. Two grocery stores, several good pubs (The Lamb, Rugby Tavern, Lady Ottoline and The Duke) and two great restaurants (Ciao Bella and Cigala) located ~5 minutes walking distance from the house. The Dickens Museum is a few doors away, and the British Museum is a 10-minute walk.

We were slightly nervous renting this property given the lack of prior reviews, but the house looked great in the pictures, and the pictures accurately depict the modern styling and like-new condition. We might be the first guests to stay here; everything appeared new (wine glasses still had stickers on the bottom). No issues with the management company. They responded to our initial query within one day, arranged a driver and car from the airport, and a representative met us at the house to let us in and review the features. We had one slight issue that was quickly resolved; the house is equipped with floor heaters and (being from Houston Texas) one of us inadvertently turned them on (thermostats and floor heaters are both controlled with remotes). We e-mailed the management company complaining that the AC units weren’t working upstairs. Karen called us back that day, was able to diagnose the cause over the phone, explained how to fix it (turn off the floorboard heaters and use the other remote to set the AC), which resolved the AC problem. Note the entrance is actually located on Roger St (on the corner of John St.) below street level.

    dommage !

    Simply awesome!!

Our stay in the lovely John Street townhouse was a true highlight of our week long, multigenerational family holiday to London for my brother’s wedding! The townhouse comfortably slept 7 of us ages 22 to 83 and had lots of space to accommodate us, our luggage, family gatherings and meals. It is bright, spacious, beautifully decorated and extremely well located within central London to buses and the tube or walking. It is VERY will thought out for group travel…everything we needed and much more!

We looked up other reviews prior to departure for suggestions re: nearby coffee shops and restaurants….our favorite prior recommendation (we went there 3 times!) was Osteria 57 which is less than a 5 minute walk along Grays Inn Road. There are also a couple of great breakfast/lunch stops and a small Co-op grocery store on Grays Inn Road within 2-5 minutes walk from the townhouse…..very handy!!!

Many thanks again to Karen and Dani for their assistance with our stay….we look forward to returning ASAP!!

    Amazing property!

This was literally the best place to stay in London by far

  • Brad A. says:

    In all honesty, disappointed...

The people we dealt with (Karen at Heritage Apartments & Mark who drove us to/from Heathrow & whose services Karen arranged for us) were wonderful. Karen’s service was prompt (she usually responded to my e-mails within a few minutes). Mark was friendly, helped us with our bags and got us to/from our destinations safely. But, the apartment itself was disappointing. We arrived on a warm April day (April 2017). It was hot inside. While it is billed as having air conditioning, I think that is a stretch. We could not get the air conditioners to cool to save our lives! So, we had windows opened for most of our stay. That took care of the climate control issues, but the street noise was substantial. The apartment sits on Roger Street and there was a fair amount of traffic on it most of the 6 days we were there. In addition, there is motorcycle parking immediately in front of the apartment. So, we have windows raised so that it is comfortable inside, but we hear cars and motorcycles frequently. In addition, there was construction occurring directly across Roger Street in front of the apartment. So, we heard construction noise each day starting fairly early in the morning (as in by 8:00 or 9:00 am most mornings). Finally, less than a block up Roger Street toward Grays Inn Road, there was a building whose fire alarm or burglar alarm went off twice – both times late at night or early in the morning. Honestly, it was like sleeping at the Indianapolis Speedway. Based upon the reviews of the property I read, I was expecting peace & tranquility. We found anything but. Then, there was the issue of the two upstairs bedrooms. First, the beds are mismatched to the rooms. The larger bed is in the smaller bedroom and the master bedroom has the smaller bed. That made the smaller bedroom upstairs an even tighter fit for the two adults we had in that room. The beds in the smaller room are advertised as twin beds that can be zipped together to make a larger bed. The reality is that they MUST be shoved together because there isn’t enough room in that bedroom to separate them. Very, very tight quarters. The bedroom on the first floor was perfect, however. And its bathroom was wonderful compared to the two upstairs… The bathroom in the smaller upstairs bedroom is TINY. The sink is so small that you literally cannot wash your hands without getting water everywhere. The master bath was a good size, but smelled musty.

    We left London exhausted!

I was very disappointed to receive this unfair review. This gentleman and his family could not operate the air con clearly and didn’t try and contact us to help him. Despite manuals being left for every appliance this includes the air conditioning, which is very simple to operate if the instructions are followed carefully. This is a gorgeous house prepared perfectly and maintained all the time to ensure everything works perfectly. I also respond quickly and if guests need assistance they only have to ask. To get a three bedroom three bathroom house with air con in London is most unusual. All previous guests have left mainly 5 star reviews and I think that speaks for itself. We will always do our utmost to keep all our guests happy but we also realise sadly we cannot please everybody.

    As advertised

The property manager was very responsive and helpful right from the start of the booking to departure.

Small issues encountered during the stay and a bit of delay in the refundable deposit, but all were sorted out promptly. I would have given the property a five star had it not been for the delay.

The property was as advertised. Location was great, just a short walk to many restaurants.

This is a great place to stay.

  • Claire G. says:

    Outstanding!

This house was beyond all our expectations! Management were great at answering all my questions pre arrival.

Living space and kitchen are perfect for large families like ours, bedrooms a good size and having three bathrooms was a real bonus! All instructions provided so it was easy to work with the air con and other appliances.

Linen and towels were so comfortable and made sleeping like a dream! Barely any noise considering it’s London.

Location was great, just a few minutes walk to the grocery store and a super cute coffee shop 1 min away.

Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Great location (10 minute walk to 3 Tube Stations)

Karen was a great resource for us – we had booked Airbnb, who cancelled as we walked out of the door to the flight, less than 16 hours before our arrival. First rate service and first rate treatment from the property manager. Rating greater than 5 stars.

The property was impressive. In reading other reviews, noticed a few themes about the location. First, the air conditioning. It was warm when we walked in. A call to Karen quickly resolved, taught us how to use the system and we were perfectly comfortable for our 5 night stay.

There is also a resource available (appliance manuals) that tells you how to use everything in the flat. We were able to run the washer / dryer and dishwasher with no issue with the information.

There are motorcycles outside the door, as well as normal traffic in a residential neighborhood. We did not notice the noise at all, nor did we notice any big projects ongoing that were unusually noisy. I would say, you are in a big city. Even though there is city noise, you are in a residential neighborhood and the noise is not bad at all.

It is a ten minute walk to Russell Square, Kings Cross and Farmington Tube station, which is a great way to quickly access different Tube lines without changing trains. It is also a £ 10 cab ride (we had luggage) to Kings Cross / Saint Pancras to catch the Eurostar to Paris.

The flat is 3 level, and there are stairs. We were 5 – 2 parents, 2 college boys and an 82-year old grandmother. There is a bedroom and bath on the first floor along with the kitchen / breakfast room, perfect for the grandmother. The second floor is a lovely dining/ family area. The 3rd floor is 2 nice bedrooms and 2 nice baths.

I highly recommend this property. It is modern, clean and especially well run.

A special thanks for making our stay in London outstanding.
