Bloomsbury is an area of the London Borough of Camden, in central London, between Euston Road and Holborn, developed by the Russell family in the 17th and 18th centuries into a fashionable residential area. It is notable for its array of garden squares, literary connections (exemplified by the Bloomsbury Group), and numerous cultural, educational and health-care institutions. Bloomsbury was not the first area of London to have acquired a formal square, Bloomsbury Square laid out in 1660 by Thomas Wriothesley, 4th Earl of Southampton, as Southampton Square was the first square to be named as such.

Exactly as shown, very well appointed.

We enjoyed the apartment which was great for two couples. In an interesting area we liked The Lamb, CiaoBella, and Lady Ottoline for dinner. Everything is clean and neat and well thought out. Lots of storage for clothes. The only down side is the shower which leaks onto the floor no matter what you do. I wish our greeter had shown us how to use the cooktop, which we did figure out. Otherwise just about perfect! Highly recommended.

    Beautiful!

We just loved this flat. The location was nice & quiet but close to everything! The owners were so accommodating & our driver, Mark, was charming. Very clean & beautifully decorated. I would just caution that it is a 4th floor unit which might be hard for some renters. It was no problem for us at all! Thanks & we will be back!!!

    Comfortable stay and excellent location

Highly recommend this flat. It was very comfortable and nicely furnished. This flat is located in Bloombury and MANY attractions/pubs/stores are within walking distance. It was a pleasure dealing with the realtor – top notch and VERY PROFESSIONAL. We were delayed 15 hours before our departure and everyone was so helpful in making sure we had a friendly face to greet us when we arrived in London. Just outstanding customer service and a truly outstanding location for this flat!! Would return in a heartbeat and absolutely recommend this to others visiting London!!!!

A clean and modern apartment in a very good location

Although I have lived in London, this apartment was not in an area I was familiar with – however over the week we were there I came to realise what a fantastic location it was. Although about ten minutes either way to Holborn or Russell Street tube stations, the walk was not difficult and with an extra 20 minutes or so of easy walking, you could get to Covent Garden, Leicester Square or other tourist hotspots. This was extremely handy when many of the tube stations flooded after heavy rain.

There were numerous choices for takeaway food, pubs, coffee (coffee nook Hopper was in the same street and became our breakfast coffee go-to spot) and a Co-op supermarket just a couple of minutes away.

The apartment was clean, tidy and modern and served our family of five well (second bedroom was a little tight as we chose to put the third teenager onto a folding bed in there rather than on the foldout couch in the living area). The kitchen was tiny but had everything you needed for simple cooking or reheating.

I must mention that I think we were a little unlucky – the day we arrived there had been heavy rain and water had leaked through a ceiling light fitting and onto one of the single beds, which was quite wet.

When we contacted a property manager, she did her utmost to be helpful but it was obviously going to be a bigger problem than could be fixed during our stay. The mattress apparently could not be replaced quickly but I was very unimpressed with the man who came and delivered fresh bedding, flipped the damp mattress over (mattress protector and all) and then left me to remake the bed myself, closely followed by the very grumpy builder who could not seem to understand why he was there and scolded me for not realising that I could take the ‘window limiters’ out myself so I could open the windows properly

(Grumpy builder: its just a legal requirement! didn’t you know that? Me: Why yes Mr Builder, the first thing I normally do any time I check in to a new property is work out how I can violate some building codes)

If not for the wet bed incident I would have had only positives to say about this property – it is a given that in central London you will pay top dollar (or pound) and we were prepared to accept that. I would happily stay here again and would recommend this property to friends and family.

    Beautiful Apartment

Our family of four had a wonderful time in London and this apartment worked well for us. It is as beautiful as the pictures look. We enjoyed the nearby restaurants. Groceries are also close by. It’s a 10 minute walk to the tube and even closer to the bus, which our kids loved.

First out of US VRBO stay

First of all the flat was amazing. I love the towel warmers in the bathrooms. Location is perfect for walking and public transport. We kept heading towards Hilborn for our dining but found a few days before departure a lot more to discover to the right when you leave the building. Cutest coffee company next to the building. If you don’t feel like going out order in from Deliveroo. Enjoyed KimChee, Hiba, Wagamama, Scarfes, Wahaca, Spaghetti House, The Queens Head, Thiwayna Thai, Bea’s, The Food Shop, Harrods, Fortnum and Mason, Lady Ottoline and Silver Cross. Of course a few more pubs in that mix. Bottle Dog is around the corner if you are a hop head. (Every beer available). Perfect time of the year to see London, spring coming alive in all of the parks and gardens. I would stay in this flat again, I felt at home. Thank you for making this flat available for VRBO.

    Excellent Location

An excellent apartment located at an excellent location. The apartment is modern and clean. It has easy access to top sights in London, in addition to grocery stores and shopping. It is on a quiet street so it is a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing.

    Lovely apartment, conveniently located

Our family of five stayed in this apartment during the Christmas-New Year’s week. The other building tenants seemed to be away, so it was very quiet. We found this location to be convenient. There are two bus stops very near by that are on routes to all the major attractions, and there was a well-stocked Sainsbury’s grocery store next to the tube station at Holborn. We used the kitchen for all our breakfasts and three dinners. It is equipped sufficiently to do the kind of cooking where you are mostly using prepared foods, which is all I wanted to do on vacation! The bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely appointed and the flip bed in the living room was comfortable for our teenage son. The whole place felt like it had just been renovated a month ago, all fresh and neat. It was great to have the washer/dryer. Karen was super helpful throughout the process.

    Really nice Apartment, great stay!

We stayed here with two kids in August 2015 for a week. We loved the apt. Quiet street and nice surroundings. Apt was great. Everything brand new. Kitchen a bit small but didn’t really bother us. Bedrooms were good, beds were comfy. Apt was spotlessly clean on arrival. Living area is spacious and very comfortable. Furnishings very nice. Convenience stores and small supermarkets in easy walking distance. Close to two tube stations. Simple restaurants near by. WiFi worked well. A few flights up so not so good for elderly and lots of luggage. We didn’t mind this, felt safer and had the windows open alot. Basically exactly as appears in the photos and advertisements. Was easy to book.

Superbe appartement, tel que sur photos. Bien situé. Nous le recommandons. Nous étions 6, grands-parents, parents et enfants et avions de l’espace.

    Clean and full of light

We loved the flat. Quiet neighborhood-some noise from upstairs neighbor. Everything was very clean and modern. I would suggest better bed pillows and the shower head in the hall bath needs fixing as it sprayed a single stream onto the bathroom floor. All and all we would definitely rent again.

    Great Property

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property. It had everything that we needed and was spacious with lots of natural light. The location was great. Danni was wonderful to work with.

  • Nancy Van Meter says:

Good location & well maintained apartment

Two adult couples found this apartment to be comfortable and roomy enough for the four of us. The location was very good, allowing us to walk to many of London’s attractions. A standout amenity was the restaurant down the block — Lady Ottoline’s! One downside was no lift and two flights of stairs – which were hard for the older of the couples after a long day of sightseeing. Additionally, we were not given full information on the location of the apartment entrance — around the corner from the street address – so had some trouble on arrival. We would also suggest that guests could use more complete and clear advice – preferably written — on using the washer/dryer and adjusting the thermostats. Overall, would definitely recommend this to others.

  • Ann Sokolowski says:

    Perfect Bloomsbury Apartment!

This is a modern, very clean and very efficiently ordered apartment in a lovely location. You can walk to many attractions like the British Museum or Hunterian. Plus, you are close to many pubs and restaurants, and grocery stores. Our favorite pub was the Lday Ottoline. We highly recommend this apartment!

  • Margaret Becker says:

Really nice apartment, very convenient location.

We loved this place – very nice, clean and comfortable – just as shown in the listing. Location was excellent – not a touristy area at all and very attractive – which we liked very much – but very close to the Tube and within walking distance of Coventry Garden. Plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The manager of the property was extremely helpful and nice. Good Italian nearby was Isolabella. Bee’s has delicious pastry. Lady Ottoline pub one block away was very good too. Great park just up the street. Holborn Tube stop a few blocks away. We were extremely satisfied and would stay here again.

  • Shawn Yang says:

    An efficient property conveniently located

We chose this property for its location and condition. It is, indeed, nice to be able to walk to the British Museum and tube stations within 15 minutes. The two separate beds in the second bedroom also made our daughters happy. They hate having to share the beds when we stay at a hotel. We were fortunate to have arrived after the heat wave in August, so the fans were sufficient for a comfortable night’s sleep. Air-conditioner would have been nice, but this is London! The modern appliances in the kitchen made having a casual breakfast easy. The dishwasher made cleanup afterwards simple. If I have to improve the kitchen, I would buy silicon spatulas as the plastic ones from Ikea can’t handle the heat of frying an egg. But then, there is a few nice neighborhood restaurants that serve breakfast. The full English breakfast at Andrew’s nearby was quite filling. Freshly baked croissant from nearby market also reduced the need to cook everything.

All in all, we enjoyed using this flat as a base for our tours throughout the city. Its location can’t be beat for a real feel of living among the locals. When we needed a car for day trips out of the city, there is even multiple rental car offices nearby. We chose Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 15 minutes away by walk. They handed us a brand new Mercedes, not any smelly old used one. Like they say, in real estate, location is everything. The same is for vacation rental!

  • Dr. Hegasy says:

    Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at the apartment and Karen and her team were very kind and helpful. We arrived later than expected, but a staff member was patiently waiting for us. The apartment was even more spacious than what I had expected from the photos. Obviously it had been renovated very recently and everything appeared as new. Furniture and decoration are handpicked and held in decent colours. The two sleeping rooms are at the opposite ends of the flat, so while staying together in one apartment still everyone can have their privacy. Location is perfect: while there is absolutely no street noise at all, it is still in the middle of everything. Tube stations are maybe 10 mins walk, Bus station (38 to Victoria Station via Soho) 2 mins walk. I highly recommend this apartment.

    Amazing stay in London

This flat in london was very nice and suited all of our needs. We were traveling with a family of six and had plenty of room. The floor plan was bright and open and the kitchen was a bit smaller but very efficient. The location was great. A very quick walk to Covent Garden and near a tube. This location was in a great neighborhood with nice pubs and stores. The condo was very clean. We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend this flat.

  • James M says:

    Exceptional! Highly recommended.

Outstanding! We have rented many apartments over the years. This was, by far, the nicest apartment we have ever stayed in. Newly refurnished. Exceptionally clean. Small but very well stocked kitchen. All of the utensils, paper products, etc. that a traveler wouldn’t carry with them were available. 5-10 minute walk to the Underground. Buses one block away. Quiet, residential neighborhood but with stores, pubs and restaurants within close walking distance. Highly recommended.

  • Xavier F says:

Comfortable, contemporary, convenient flat in Bloomsbury

Would highly recommend this flat. My family of four stayed there last week. Communications with property owner were excellent. Very timely and efficient. The flat is lovely – recently renovated and clean. Very spacious for London. We really appreciated the bright lighting! Living area is very comfortable. Both bedrooms are a bit tight, but not too small. The bedding is great, though the mattresses are a little soft. One bathroom is huge, with a great tub/shower. The other bathroom is pretty tiny, but everything works well. The kitchen has everything one would need.

Lots of coffee shops and pubs within minutes. St. Pancras station is a 20 min walk. Easy stroll to the British Museum. Ubers available within minutes.

    Would definitely stay here again!

    Clean, great location, quiet

My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 tween kids) stayed here for a week. It was the perfect home base for exploring London. Management was top notch, space was clean and nicely furnished. We would readily stay again and enjoyed our experience with Heritage Apartment Rentals.

Wonderful apartment with attention to detail.

Wonderful apartment! Very clean, comfortable and with many amenities. Short walk to tube and close to bus lines. Variety of pubs and restaurants close by. Downfall is no lift for those who might have trouble going up flights of stairs. It was not a problem for us. Quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Centrally located flat in very nice neighborhood

We can’t say enough about our wonderful stay in this very comfortable, clean and well appointed flat. We were so happy to not be in a hotel, but in this very spacious two bedroom with a very nice living area to stretch out!

We really enjoyed being 5-6 blocks from the Russel Square tube station, 4-5 blocks from a shopping area and blocks from restaurants including our new favorite, Cio Bella!

The owner was very nice, responsive and delivered a wonderful place that matches the photos exactly! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your flat, we will definitely stay again when we return to London.

  • Peter T. says:

    Great place, great location.

Beautiful apartment, very well equipped. Quiet. Well located. The only thing we didn’t appreciate is when we asked to be let in a few hours early since our flight arrived early in the morning and we had no where to store our bags, we were told there would be a fee of 100 pounds, a ridiculous fee considering the place had been vacated the previous day. Then when we arrived at the agreed upon time, which was 2 p.m. we waited half an hour in front with our suitcases, on the sidewalk, not very considerate! Otherwise would recommend the place, lovely.

    • Heritage Apartment Rentals says:

Our terms and conditions state that we charge a fee for early check in or late check out. This is due to the fact that we have to rearrange our cleaning and meeting staff and re schedule our planning. We always offer two alternatives for luggage storage and we did for this guest too. They are also cafes round the corner should guests arrive early so no need to wait on the sidewalk. We are delighted like all our guests they enjoyed our gorgeous flat. We do hope we can welcome them back really soon.

    Beautiful Flat

Sorry for such a delay in writing this review – we stayed in this property in early April 2017. Wonderful place, quiet, safe neighborhood. We had actually originally booked another flat through HomeAway but it fell through last minute and Karen was able to help us find another place to stay – 2 other places, actually. We would definitely recommend Heritage Apartments – they are wonderful and their places are spectacular.

  • Penny J. says:

    Clean, pleasant, handy.

Nice area. We walked to Covent Garden, St Paul’s Cathedral etc, but buses depart very regularly from around the corner, and the tube is about 10 to 15 minutes walk. We made contact and were greeted easily. The room was clean and reasonably well equipped but we ate lunch and dinner out so can’t comment on the kitchen equipment.

Wonderful flat for a family exploring London

We had a great time in this flat. It was just what we were looking for to spend a week in London. There was lots of space to settle in and make it our home, which was easy to do as the flat was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Plus, we loved the location. We completely walking around the neighborhood — there were plenty of restaurants and playgrounds (for our 4-year old son) and it is exceptionally close to bus stops (or the Tube) to get us wherever we wanted to go.

  • Susan A says:

Great location with modern style and amenities

The living/dining room is spacious with seating for 5 or 6 people. Both bedrooms are decent sized with lots of closets and drawers. The bathrooms are super with heated towel bars and nice big towels. The kitchen is adequate (all the necessary appliances including a dishwasher), but tiny. I did like the big window! The air conditioning wasn’t working during our stay which meant open windows (and some street noise), but fans kept us comfortable. Climbing the stairs wasn’t a problem for us, but could be a deterrent for some guests.

The neighborhood is peasant and convenient to shops and cafes. Three tube stations are an easy walk and much of central London is within walking distance. Or you can get a cab right outside the door. The best find is the garden cafe at the Dickens Museum just down the street. There is no admission charge to eat a light meal or snack, although the museum is worth a visit on its own. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

  • Steve C. says:

    Terrific

Home away from home! Great space, clean, well-appointed. Everything you need to make for a comfortable stay. Welcomed at the home right on time, with all the detail necessary for my family to enjoy the space. Short walk to Russell Square tube stop and the British Museum. We walked to Soho, Covent Garden and other key destinations. Highly recommended.
