The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is home to some of the most interesting and enjoyable attractions in London. From the ever-hip King’s Road in Chelsea to the more recently popular Notting Hill; the shopping heaven that is Kensington High Street; the fantastic greenery and scenery of Kensington Gardens; to some of London’s top museums which are located in South Kensington.

Many of you may have heard about the area in recent years in connection with Princess Diana, who resided at Kensington Palace. (And indeed, you could often see Princess Diana shopping in the area, or visiting local cafes or the cinema on Kensington High Street.) Further back, your parents may well remember the area being where “Swinging London” emerged from in the mid-60s in places like King’s Road (which also saw the birth of punk in the 70s), Kensington Market and Biba Fashion House (now the location of a Marks and Spencer on Kensington High Street!).

Nowadays, amongst other things, Kensington and Chelsea is the most affluent borough (local authority area) in Britain. Whilst this means that the area is home to some of the priciest properties and features some of the most luxurious boutiques and restaurants in the country, there’s still plenty to enjoy for people on any budget! Visitors come to Kensington and Chelsea to explore many of the area’s attractions, whilst at the same time, the pretty area has some lovely streets and squares, and is generally very safe so a great part of London to stay in. There’s also plenty of restaurants for all budgets, and entertainment options (pubs, bars, clubs, cinemas and theatres) plus very good shopping opportunities (such as Kensington High Street and King’s Road) so there’s plenty to keep you occupied.

    A Fine Choice

After a month on Radley Mews, I can tell you that it’s a fine choice: comfortable, convenient, well equipped and quiet. I chose this apartment because it had high-end, full-size appliances (washer and separate dryer, refrigerator and separate freezer) and because it was near good supermarkets (Waitrose, Whole Foods, M&S Food Hall) and three Tube lines (at Earl’s Court, High Street Kensington and Gloucester Road). Karen, the rental agent, could not have been more helpful. Two things to know: the luxurious marble bathroom is right off the kitchen, separated from it by large wood pocket doors. Since I was the only occupant, this was no problem, but it could be awkward for couples or threesomes. And there is no window in either kitchen or bath (each room has an exhaust fan).

First Class Proparty in Excellent Location

Nice property in excellent location. Property is small but adequate for two people. There was a roll away bed available for a third person but I don’t know where there would be room to set it up other than in the kitchen. I have one recommendation for anyone staying here. Be sure to get a thorough orientation on the use all appliances. The appliances in this property are all top of the line and high tech. The cook top, or “hob” as it is called in England is extremely high tech. Even with the written manual I could not figure out how to use it. The eyes do not get hot to the touch and consequently you do not think that it is working. Management was kind enough to send someone by to demonstrate it’s use. As stated, the eyes do not get hot to the touch when they are turned on, yet when you place a pot on the eye and place liquid or food in the pot it begins to cook. Take the pot off the eye and the eye is cool to the touch. Go figure. I would certainly recommend this property for a stay in London.

Perfect location, modern, clean and cozy

We stayed for 10 days at this property and had a great time. The location is excellent and is very close to shops, restaurants and pubs. When we first entered we did notice that it was small but we got used to that. Of more importance was that the bathroom and kitchen are very modern and well equipped.

Much appreciated was the service we received from Karen at Heritage. Nothing was too much trouble and she was available whenever I called, even when she was on vacation. There were a couple of minor repairs that needed doing and she was on to it the same day, even after 5pm.

All in all, we had a wonderful time and will book it again.

High quality apartment in a great location professionally managed

quietly located in a mew house, still good infrastructure (food shopping, cafes, restaurants) very near by and only 5mins to Kensington high street.

Delightful small mews house - best for two people, very suitable for older visitors.

We enjoyed over two weeks at the mews house. It is small – but well designed and comfortable for two people (a bit tight for three people). It is very suited to older visitors to London – no stairs, shower stall (most showers over the bath in London apartments) quiet, very friendly local shops, about 10 minute walk to a choice of three underground stations, good access to V & A, Albert Hall and Kensington Hight Street shops, bus service close by (74 on Gloucester Road). The house has excellent washing machine, dryer, TV and wifi. We recommend it highly.

    Wonderful place to stay

We spend seven nights at this flat and everything about it was first-rate. We were met upon arrival by a young man who introduced us to the property and made sure we knew where to find everything and how to use the appliances. The place was recently renovated with top-of-the -line fixtures and appliances, and was scrupulously clean. All the essentials were there, including coffee, condiments, soaps etc, and the bed, bed linens and towels were first rate.

Located in a quiet mews, but close to everything – three tube stations within a ten-minute walk, a supermarket a 15-minute walk away. Among the many highlights were the Italian deli just around the corner (the lasagne is to die for!!), Chez Patrick across the street where we had an incredible final night dinner, and the Devonshire pub where we enjoyed several nightcaps. Holland Park was a beautiful oasis, and a walk through Notting Hill was very worthwhile.

There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this property – it exceeded all expectations, and the agency looking after the rental was a delight to deal with.

    Highly recommended.

    Pleasant pretty and practical.

    Quiet!

Good location on a quiet charming street with easy walk to public transport.

Neighborhood feeling with friendly bar and restaurants and grocery nearby. Don’t miss French restaurant around the corner Chez Patrick.

Very expensive renovation including great appliances, high end kitchen and bath renovation and heated tile floors.

    Excellent housekeeping. Spotless.

    Well priced.

    Great Location

Wonderful little one bedroom on a quiet alley. The agent was on time and happy to see us. It is easy to get to two tube stations or hail a cab. Loved the washer and dryer and modern bathroom! We were able to pack half of what we normally would have needed for our trip. The Italian place around the conner has great croissants for a quick breakfast. There is a pub, a drug store, a little grocer, a butcher, and even a high end wine shop just a minute away from the apartment door. It truly does have everything you would need right there. When we travel back to London we will make sure we stay here again.

    Wonderful place to stay

As the previous reviews have stated, the condo was small but very well equipped. The Internet was fast, the kitchen well equipped with new appliances and the location unbeatable. We stayed for 11 days in February and found it warm and quiet. There are many services close to the condo with a pub, dry-cleaner, wine store and new agent just a few steps away. The property agent was very helpful in terms of offering to arrange transportation to and from the airport and promptly answered any questions we had. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect - ideal space for two

We just spent a week in this flat and were pleased in every way. The flat is in excellent condition, having been recently refurbished with ultra-modern appliances, fixtures, and decor. It had been thoroughly cleaned for our arrival and a supply of cleaning products, tissue, and coffee and tea were provided. The space is perfect for two people, or a couple with an infant or small child (there is a fold-up cot in the bedroom), and is in a quiet street conveniently located for walking in Hyde Park, shopping, and access to public transport (bus and District and Circle subway lines.) We were a bit worried about being warm, since this is a ground-floor flat and our stay was the chilly first week of March, but the heating system was effective enough for the space and is complemented by underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. Space heaters were available in the flat, but weren’t really needed. Heritage Property Rentals, Karen and her team, were a pleasure to deal with and responsive from our first inquiry about the rental and through our entire stay. We were met, in person, on arrival and were given an orientation to the essential features of the flat; a document and manuals are there if you need to refer to them afterwards. A small item that was missing from the flat was delivered to our door within a few hours of our request. The property managers obviously keep their property in good condition and we definitely hope to return again in the future.

    Excellent apartment

The location is great … on a very private street but a few short steps away from several food stores and restaurants. An easy walk of 6 to 8 minutes brings you to two different tube stops surrounded by an even larger selection of shops/ restaurants. The apartment is roomy for two but the bedroom could be tight if the cot was used to accommodate a third guest. The kitchen and bath are ultra modern and look to be brand new.

The friendly owner representative was unfazed by our frequently changing arrival time and also connected us with an efficient and cost effective ride to Heathrow when we departed.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 6 day stay.

Wonderful flat in a quiet, safe neighborhood

The flat was stylish, clean, well appointed, well stocked, and extremely comfortable. From the linens on the bed (and down comforter) to the towels in the bathroom, everything was white and fresh. Although the flat is small, there is a lot of storage space so when we unpacked, which there was plenty of room to do, we felt at home and well situated. The washer and dryer were AMAZING. Front loading washer and dryer that performed well and got the clothes really clean and really dry (took me a bit to find the water reservoir that needed to be emptied). I’m an organizer and found everything to be in tip top shape. There was adequate pots and pans for cooking as well as dishes, glasses and cutlery for eating. Honestly, I found it wanting for nothing. It’s also worth mentioning that the heat (we were there in November when it was cold outside) performed perfectly and with a minimum of noise which was a big plus. I wholeheartedly recommend the flat.

Great experience in an amazing location

We had a great experience with both the apartment and the property management company.

Some FAQs I would like to answer for my review:

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? Yes

Was the property clean and well-maintained? Yes. It is very nice to arrive and have top-of the line appliances, decent Wi-Fi and a clean and well laid out apartment, it made our stay very enjoyable.

Did the owner or manager provide good customer service? Very good service, vary attentive and available.

Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? Absolutely

What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy? This place is close to 2 tube stations and close to all the museums, we had a great pub, an Italian cafe just around the corner, a wine dealer, a pharmacy and a grocery store within a few steps…and yet we had excellent privacy.

    A gem in Kensington

We spent a wonderful 9 days at the apartment, which is tucked away on a quiet mews, but centrally located in a posh neighborhood. Less than a minute walk to an Italian shop with fresh cornetti/cappucino and an excellent intimate French restaurant, about a minute to the nearest pub, two minutes to nearest city bike station, and less than ten minutes to the High Street Kensington tube station.

The apartment, freshly remodeled, was pristine and extremely well-equipped with new high-end appliances (stove, oven dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer, dryer) and decent wifi. Bathroom and adjoining kitchen have heated floors, which was quite a luxury!

Excellent service from Karen and staff. We would definitely return to this apartment, and recommend highly without reservation.

Note: before booking our reservation, an internet search uprooted a scathing rant about the property management company. Our experience was nothing short of excellent and utterly at odds with this posting.

    Fantastic property

Our stay in London was made perfect by the outstanding quality of this house. It is well appointed and cleverly designed to maximise space, has everything you could possibly think of for a home from home experience. The bathroom is luxurious, loved the under floor heating, very quiet so a good nights sleep was had by all. The location is only a five minute walk to the tube station, and the lovely shops, restaurants on the high street. We didn’t want to leave and will definately returning in the new year to what we now call ‘our London pad’

    Fabulous Stay

My husband and I frequently stay in rental flats during our travels, particularly in London, and I can say without question that this flat has been our absolute favorite. We’re already talking about how soon we can return!

The flat itself is lovely and more than met our needs. Everything about it is thoughtful, from the layout to the appliances; the bed and sofa were both incredibly comfortable. It was also very private and quiet, despite having easy access to Kensington High Street, Earl’s Court, and Cromwell Road. It was convenient to travel throughout the city on the tube, and there is a Sainsburys and Waitrose in easy walking distance.

Finally, Karen and her team were so kind and helpful, from the time of booking to our arrival and checkout. We particularly appreciated the fact that we were able to arrange for early check-in after our overnight flight.

We’d highly recommend this flat and look forward to returning soon.

    Lovely apartment, great location

We loved this adorable flat and found it very comfortable. Any issues were handled quickly and courteously (once I realized my phone provider wasn’t connecting and email was the best way to reach the manager). I highly recommend this as a romantic little nest for a London stay.

    A wonderful London gem

A creatively renovated and thoughtfully appointed mews house in a fabulous location. Has everything you could need and it is within a short walk to a fabulous Italian Deli (great coffee) and a quaint English pub. Walking distance to many of the museums, gardens and palaces.

Well serviced by 2 Underground stations. Would go back in a heartbeat.

    Perfection

We were privileged to live here for 2 weeks. So much better than a hotel room. Perfect size for two people. Full kitchen with amenities. Washer and dryer that allowed us to pack light for the trip. Two Tube stations within walking distance (EARLS COURT and HIGH STREET KENSINGTON) allowed us to travel anywhere in London with an Oyster Card and TRANSPORT FOR LONDON on our phones. Comfortable bed. It did get a bit stuffy during the unseasonably hot temperatures but there is a fan that helped a great deal. We purchased our food and drink at the Sainsbury on Earl’s Court which was a fraction of the cost of Whole Foods. Excellent fruit and Scottish Sparkling Water that we found very refreshing. We did have a car pick us up and return us to Heathrow. The driver, Mark, was a splendid fellow and we appreciated his assistance and punctuality. Overall, we hit a home run when we booked the apartment. Please note that the corner apartment is nestled into a car garage for very upscale vehicles. The Rolls Royces are not part of the amenities, sad to say.
