Covent Garden is a district in London on the eastern fringes of the West End, between St. Martin’s Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit and vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and the Royal Opera House, which is also known as ‘Covent Garden’.

The district is divided by the main thoroughfare of Long Acre, north of which is given over to independent shops centred on Neal’s Yard and Seven Dials, while the south contains the central square with its street performers and most of the elegant buildings, theatres and entertainment facilities, including the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and the London Transport Museum.

Traveled with wife and 2 boys 12/9. Can’t say enough about this place. Awesome in every capacity.

Location…Ridiculous. 5 min walk to Leicester Square or Covent Garden on Picidilly line (which runs directly to Heathrow). Take the tube from airport and save the Taxi fees. Very easy.

Location…this is a very upscale area with lots of shops (coffee, clothing, Apple store, etc). Young professionals and families. Felt very safe letting my 12 year old go around the corner for Pizza.

Location….walk to British Museum, Picidilly Circus, Royal opera (theater district), China Town within 10 min. Can access all other london sights within a 15 tube ride. Cant say enought about location

I dont know London well enough to recommend this area over another, however I enjoyed this enough that I would not try anywhere else.

Condition of Apartment…new….nuff said…First floor apartment, but not ground floor. Have to go up one flight as first floor is above ground floor. Elevator new and works like America…(if you have been to France you now what I mean)

Heritage Apartments….Great to work with. Everything went as expected, communication as expected, check in / check out /security refund without issue and prompt.

Would certainly recommend this place to all families traveling with kids. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds which is great for the kids. I will definately stay here when we come back.

    Thanks for a great trip.

    Wonderful Flat in Covent Garden

Beautiful, modern two bedroomed flat in Covent Garden.

    Tastefully furnished and very comfortable.

Central, fairly quiet location – the whole of central London within walking distance.

A fabulous base in a wonderful city!

The location of this flat is perfect. Restaurants, attractions, pubs, etc. The beds are super comfortable, and the kitchen has all you need for your stay. If you are flying into gatwick I highly recommend pre-booking a ride in with Mark (best taxi driver in the world!).

    excellent location but

This was a fantastic location, you could walk to everything and everywhere, the apartment was clean and the washing machine and dryer were handy, but the bed was very uncomfortable, the shower was nightmare with the water going hot and cold and we learnt very quickly not to try and adjust it, you just had ti wait until the water became hot again, not good, the only sharp knife in the place the handle had broken of, this makes it difficult hanging on to the blade and trying to cut things.

If I could suggest to buy a new quality bed, try and get the plumbing fixed with some instructions, some new utensils and maybe even a T.V guide of some sorts.

All these things updated would make this place outstanding, all most people want is a good nights sleep and a good shower

    Location! Location! Location!

We so enjoyed our recent stay at this property and found it met all our requirements for a vacation rental. It was clean, has the necessary modern amenities (including a proper North American style shower! and fabulous big, cushy bath towels), and is stylishly decorated. The kitchen was great! We ate breakfast in the flat every day and loved having that easy convenience. Also, Karen was very responsive to our questions and promptly helped to sort out any little glitches we encountered.

What really sells this unit is the incredible location. We walked almost everywhere we needed to go — <5 minutes to the theatre or the Royal Opera House, < 10 minutes to the National Gallery, 10 minutes to the British Museum, 10 minutes to our favourite restaurant in Soho, etc. Fantastic. And if it was too far to walk, we opted to catch black London cabs on the street or in nearby St. Martin's Lane or Charing Cross Road or the Strand (although nearby tube stations abound). Being central is really the best way to enjoy London.

Lots of previous reviewers have mentioned the noise and this is indeed true. The apartment is close to street level and the height of the buildings surrounding the narrow lane means that the sound really echoes when everything else is quiet — not just the occasional Saturday night revellers who happen to walk down the street, but also the garbage trucks in the middle of the night. Just be prepared with comfy ear plugs and you'll find that the convenience and ease of the brilliant location will more than compensate for the need to stop your ears.

Thanks for the great stay, Karen!

    Great location in Covent garden

This is a great central location in Covent garden and is close to both Leicester square and Covent garden tube stops. Apartment is clean and had plenty of incidentals – soap dishwashing liquid etc

    Great location in Covent garden

I rented this place for myself, my husband, our toddler and both of our moms for a family trip. The place was clean and cute and the rental company was extremely accommodating to anything we needed. The only minor complaint we had was when sleeping with the windows open, you can hear everything going on the street below. That being said, we did choose to rent somewhere that we felt like we were ‘in the thick of it’. That being said, the nightly noise was something we understood we would need to deal with as its located in a busy and happening part of town:) Overall, great flat in a really cool area…highly recommended!

Fun trendy area, nice clean unit

We arrived here via cab from Heathrow airport in the middle of rush hour, it took about an hour to get there. The driver found it easily with the address, although I was expecting more of an apartment looking building, it is just a door off a small side street so at first I didn’t think it was the right address. I pushed the button for the intercom and the door unlocked! The unit says it is on the first floor, but you have to remember in Europe the first floor, is really the second floor. We had tons of luggage as we were traveling to bring my son home from study abroad and he had lots of baggage, I was relieved to see an elevator so we didn’t have to take his large extremely heavy luggage up the stairs! We were quickly shown around, pretty basic. It had everything we needed! It had a washing machine, that also dried we had to look up on youtube how to work it, but was no problem. The wi-fi worked good -we never watched TV so can’t comment on that.

We picked this place by the reviews and also the location to the tube and places we wanted to visit. It was such a fun location to be in close to shops, just 10 minute walk to theater we went to, we had so much fun once we were out the door and on our way we walked absolutely everywhere from this apartment. We loved it SO much. There was noise at night, but nothing after 12ish, and we were there on the weekend. Just people walking through on the street and the road is small so their voices echo up. I somewhat enjoyed hearing them, but did notice ear plugs in the medicine cabinet, a good option. Coming in late at night there were some guys wandering around so I wouldn’t be out there alone walking around but if you are with someone else you should be fine.

We ended up having the hot water heater go out, the owner responded to our needs right away and tried to address the issue but it couldn’t be resolved that day. She gave us the option of moving to another property they owned that night, which was a hassle but they were very nice to offer this to us. I will review this property also, if you are interested in being in a location a little further out, it’s a lovely place too. There were 4 of us staying on the trip, 2 of us liked the Covenant Garden (this one) and 2 of us preferred : from here you couldn’t walk to places, but it is more away from the touristy areas.

We were given wine and chocolates from the owner for our inconvenience. Highly reccomend this unit!

    Great location

This was a great apartment in a AMAZING location for our family of four (children 16 and 12) on our first trip to London. Close to everything you need – TUBE, shopping, restaurants, clean, comfortable. There is a bit of street noise on some nights but nothing that took away from our stay. The booking and check- in process was very well managed.

  • Sandra Zinsmeyer says:

    Great apartment!

Three Americans on a girls’ trip loved our stay at this apartment. Perfect location + outlet adapters, wi-fi, comfortable bedding, etc. We used ear plugs based on other reviews of the noise from the street. Close to Tube, shopping, restaurants, etc. Karen was very responsive to a repair that the apartment needed. Looking forward to renting this apartment for a future stay. Highly recommend!

  • Jemmah Newell says:

Awesome apartment- have told everyone how good it has been.

The whole experience through Homeaway and Heritage Apartment Rentals aka-Karen was easy, simple and a delight. Once we arrived at the apartment, everything was explained to us thoroughly. We didn’t have any issues at all with the apartment. The location is AMAZING, so handy to everything. We were sad to say goodbye to this place. Complete compliments to the owner for the recently renovated apartment in such an awesome area of town.

The apartment is a little noisy some nights- however did not bother us and our two young children too much.

The apartment comes with everything you need cleaning wise, and if its not there, down the short road (across from the Underground) is a Mark and Spencer mini supermarket.

We have told everyone about this amazing apartment, and would definitely be staying here again if we get a chance. Thank you.

    What a Great Flat!

Everything about this flat was great – nothing was bad. We loved the location! It’s on a tiny street (almost an alley) of converted warehouses – now trendy apartments. Walked down to The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields for their incredible berry cobbler with warm custard the first night we arrived – a leisurely ten min. walk from the flat to the center of Trafalgar Square! Couldn’t beat the location for proximity to everything! The neighborhood felt very safe. Yes, it’s a little noisy on the street. There is quite a bit of vehicle and walking traffic, and the sounds are magnified by the building walls. Awoke the first night to the clip-clop of horse hooves below our bedroom window (a mounted bobbie!) Really didn’t bother any of us though, and shutting the high quality windows blocked out the noise nicely. The flat has no AC, so we did open the windows a lot, and used the two nice fans they provided. It was mid-August, and we were all very comfortable temperature-wise. The flat is immaculate and beautifully appointed, with care taken to provide everything we might need. Beds are clean and comfy, with crisp white bedding. Rooms are small, but furnished nicely to make best use of space. Kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, and bathroom/shower was great. For us, this flat was the perfect choice and a better deal than two hotel rooms. (There are beds for 4, and a comfy sofa for a 5th, with linens provided.) The rental process went fine. This was a new-ish listing by Heritage Apartment Rentals, with very few ratings, and we were a little nervous about booking/paying internationally, so we opted for the VRBO vacation insurance. Turns out everything was perfectly fine and as described, and we needn’t have spent that extra money. Karen was professional, and delightful, and quick to respond to all of my booking inquires, and arrival at the flat, and the flat itself, was exactly the way she said it would be. Honestly could not have asked for a better VRBO experience! Would definitely stay here again!

    Magnifique appartement

Ideal Location Makes this Flat Stand Out

This flat in the Covent Garden area was ideal for the four of us. The location was simply amazing – five minute walk to Leicester Square tube station. Ten minutes to Chinatown, Piccadilly, The Strand. Less than 15 minutes to the British Museum. Restaurants everywhere. M&S around the corner for groceries. Retail shops all around. The flat, though small, was modern and smartly furnished and worked perfectly for our needs.

There was one downside to this nearly perfect property – the noise.

Bring earplugs, – seriously. The flat is next to a beer hall/restaurant and between drunk patrons, garbage and delivery trucks and street noise, we slept rather poorly. Our first night, we were awakened (with earplugs in) by the non-stop blood-curdling screams of an extremely drunk or disturbed person at 3:00 a.m. You cannot leave the windows open at night for air.

Other than that, I have to say this was such an ideal location that we were able to overlook the noise issues.

    Fantastic apt. in London

our stay at the apt. was just fantastic. We loved the place and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting London. The location is perfect and so easy to get to great dining and shopping. The apt is fully furnished and even though we did not cook you certainly can with a fully stocked kitchen. Karen was wonderful to work with and we had no problem with meeting up to get the key. Thanks again for a great place. It made our trip !!!

    Excellent Apartment!

This apartment was immaculate, well appointed, and couldn’t be more centrally situated. Karen was a pleasure to work with! There is a bit of street noise, but nothing compared to the activity of the Covent Garden area – the location is on a quiet street in the middle of one of the busiest areas of London. So easy to walk to Tube, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and major sites. Great place to stay!

  • Andrew Perrin says:

    Lovely apartment, very central location

We went to London the week of 8-3-15 to 15-3-15. The apartment was great and we loved it! It had just enough space and was perfect for a week in London. The location on Shelton St. was great and it was right next to Covent Garden and a 4-5 minute walk to either Leicester Square Underground Station or the Covent Garden Station. Also, the apartment was walking distance to many shops and restaurants, the London Transport Museum and many other cool things. The two bedrooms were perfect for us and the apartment was definitely worth it! The main space of the apartment was great with a TV and nice couches. The kitchen was modern, fully stocked, and very easy to use. We had a great time and the apartment was perfect for our family. The owner was wonderful to deal with and answered all our questions quickly. In short, we highly highly highly recommend this flat.

  • Jeremy says:

The Heritage Apartment was great. When we come back we’d definitely stay again. The Covent Garden area was perfect for our family which includes a 6yr old and 6month old. The hosts were amazing and super quick to respond to our needs. There’s also a ton of amazing places within walking distance, whether you want to shop, see the main sites, watch a play or just eat really delicious food. 7 Dials is literally right around the corner and so is SoHo. There’s also a Marks & Spencer and Tesco around the block to gather groceries and other items you may need. Some highlights nearby that we enjoyed were Dishoom (Indian Bombay) restaurant, The London Transportation Museum for the kids, and Patty and Bun in SoHo for amazing well crafted cheeseburgers. We walked everywhere and took the tube. Both Covent Garden Station and Liecester Square are super close by. We can’t wait to go back!

  • Elaine R says:

    Clean and convenient

The apartment is perfectly located for shows, shopping and restaurants. It is reasonably well appointed, but I deducted a star for the mattresses which, as we have previously experienced in the UK, were very soft and not pillow topped so you can feel the springs. At the price charged, a simple foam mattress topper would not break the bank and would improve the experience. However, I would still recommend this apartment for it’s location and cleanliness.

  • John D says:

Great location steps from Covent Garden tube!

This property is perfect for a small family or a party of 3-4…kitchen was fully stocked, washer/dryer etc were great…NOTE, the apartment is compact and living/kitchen is probably 10×14 in dimension…. Entry way is well secured and there is lift access to the flat…One additional thought! Weekends are busy and noisy in Covent Garden and the flat is next door to a theatre…. If you have small children who not accustomed to the street noise and thus may have trouble sleeping, bring earplugs….The location and facility more than make up for the weekend cheer(!) as this is a great spot!

    Our stay here was good.

Property is well located and well set up with comfortable beds. We felt the price was very high even given the location. There was an unfortunate smell in the kitchen which needs to be dealt with.

    • Heritage Apartment Rentals says:

Thank you for your note re smell in the kitchen we have contacted our maintenance team today to check probably just a drain, rest assured we will get it dealt with. We wish you had called us while you were in town we would love to have solved it for your stay. Many thanks

Karen from Heritage Apartments helped us find this place to stay after our original rental fell through. She was incredibly helpful and this flat was perfect for our family of five. We loved the Covent Garden area and would definitely recommend this rental and Heritage Apartments to anyone!

    Great London Flat

I spent a long weekend in London with two of my college age children. The flat was perfect for us – one king bed and two twin beds – exactly as advertised. The flat is nicely renovated in a great location in Covent Garden, with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs in the area. Also close to two tube stops and the theatre district. Karen could not have been more helpful with the flat and our visit to London.
